Building B2C SaaS as a solopreneur

Building B2C SaaS alone is a different game than building for businesses. Your user isn't a procurement team with a budget line — it's a person with a problem, 30 seconds of attention, and a dozen alternatives one tab away.
As a solopreneur, your constraint isn't ideas. It's focus. Every feature you add is maintenance you'll carry alone. Every market you chase splits your distribution effort.
What I've learned shipping consumer products solo:
Pick one painful moment. B2C products win when they nail a single job-to-be-done exceptionally well. "Swiss Army knife" positioning sounds appealing but kills conversion on landing pages and in onboarding.
Ship the landing page before the product is perfect. Your landing page is your first conversion test. If you can't explain the value in one sentence, the app won't save you.
Measure what users do, not what they say. Signups, activation, retention, and referrals — in that order. Vanity metrics feel good but don't pay the bills.
Distribution is half the product. SEO, content, social, partnerships, and word of mouth aren't afterthoughts. For a solopreneur, they're the other half of your job.
The solopreneur advantage is speed and taste. You can ship this week what a team debates for a quarter. Use that — but only on the things that move the metrics that matter.
